As most everyone knows by now, Eclipse is becoming mandatory on the 20th of May, what exactly that means for my account... Not sure yet. This place has been my home for over ten years, has shaped so much of who I am, met some of my best friends. But I definitely feel a rift by now, already started when they made the previous redesign and Eclipse is kinda the final nail in the coffin as this really showed how little staff and management care about their userbase, it shows this site does not care about art and artists anymore. So I am at a point where, if there was a better alternative, I would likely have no regrets leaving, I have just grown too bitter for even sentiment to still hold me

So the plan for now... I will likely stick around, I still have friends here and some other artists I follow and wish to continue following, but if my crowd moves away then I likely will too, but I will make an announcement if it comes to that. The issue is there haven't been any good alternatives really, closest I found is Furaffinity but that has it's own issues and stigma, but ignoring all the fetish stuff it's really only the image size restriction that really bothers me. Twitter is completely out of the question, I post my art there sometimes but it is honestly terrible for art stuff, honestly no clue how artists manage to thrive there. There is no way to search for old posts you made or liked/faved, everything is meant to be looked at once and then forgotten and I don't work like that, I want to be able to revisit older posts even years later. Not to mention I don't understand how people can post art, especially character or story related stuff, and then not want to write at least a paragraph about it, which is of course impossible with Twitter's character limit. So Twitter will definitely never become my new hub. This leaves Tumblr which... to be honest has been nowhere near as bad as everyone made me think lol. Still miss the fact I can't properly organize a gallery but tags and search help in still keeping track of things, plus I can still write long ass descriptions if I want. Atm though my Tumblr is strictly Hollow Knight based and I have no interest on posting non related stuff there, but if I do decide I need a better place to yeet my general art then I'll make a secondary blog for just everything.

So in conclusion, yes I am still staying for now, but there's no guarantee that I won't leave. If I need a new hub though then Furaffinity and Tumblr will likely be the most active places to find me at. Twitter is also an option but you won't get near as much out of it as lack of description space tends put me off from posting stuff like refs. I also have a Toyhou.se but that is character focused really and mine is heavily neglected still. If a better alternative comes along I will definitely consider that too, but in any case if I do leave I will give links to where I can be found for those who still wish to follow.

I'd like to organize a proactive event to show DA the possible results of a permanent Eclipse change-over. Instead of deactivating your accounts for good, or indefinitely boycotting the site, I'd like to make a Statement of Silence for those Users against Eclipse. Starting May 1st, I will not be active on Deviantart. I will not submit new deviations, journals or even visit the site for 3 Days time. From 12:00AM CST May 1st to 12:00am May 4th. (3 days) I ask all other Users who wish to keep old Deviantart to join me in this statement of silence. 
Not Only Is Eclipse Difficult to Navigate, It is so close to Plagiarism it isnt funny. How they aren't in a Lawsuit with Artstation is beyond me!
